RIIHAN309F - Conduct Telescopic Materials Handler Operations

This course is aimed at those who are required to carry out works requiring the operation of telescopic materials handlers. The course covers identifying work requirements and instructions for undertaking the task, hazard identification and control, inspection and maintenance and the safe operation of the machines.

COURSE CONTENT SUMMARY

Students will attain the practical application and understanding required to operate telescopic materials handlers in all industries and will be able to:

  • Plan and prepare for telescopic materials handler operations 

  • Carry out hazard identification, risk assessment and control

  • Understand the Legislation, Regulations and Standards applicable to telescopic materials handler operations

  • Conduct telescopic materials handler pre-operational checks

  • Safely operate a telescopic materials handler

  • Attach, secure, lift, carry and place materials

  • Select, remove and fit machine attachments

  • Relocate telescopic materials handler

  • Carry out machine operator maintenance

  • Conduct housekeeping activities

QUALIFICATION OUTCOMES

On successful completion of this course students will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for 'RIIHAN309F - Conduct Telescopic Materials Handler Operations' with the option of a wallet sized card also. The Unique Student Identifier must be supplied and verified prior to issuance.

VALIDITY OF CERTIFICATION

Your Statement of Attainment does not have an expiry date, however it is widely requested in the industry that a Verification Of Competency (VOC) be conducted prior to commencement on many construction and mining sites.

Course Delivery

Training and assessment is a one-day course, generally conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients, provided there are suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities available.
