TLIF2010 - Apply Fatigue Management Strategies

This course provides the skills and knowledge required to apply fatigue management strategies within the workplace. Includes identifying and acting on signs of fatigue and implementing appropriate strategies to minimise fatigue during work activities, in particular when operating equipment, trains, vehicles, load shifting equipment, marine vessels and aircraft.

COURSE CONTENT SUMMARY

Identify and act on signs of fatigue:

  • Potential causes of fatigue are identified and action is taken to minimise their effects in accordance with company procedures
  • Personal warning signs of fatigue are recognised and necessary steps are taken in accordance with workplace procedures, to ensure that effective work capability and alertness are maintained

Implement strategies to minimise fatigue:

  • Workplace procedures are assessed to minimise fatigue
  • Factors that increase the risk of fatigue-related accidents and incidents are minimised
  • Fatigue management strategies are implemented in accordance with workplace policy
  • Lifestyle choices are made that promote the effective long-term management of fatigue
  • Effective practices in combating fatigue are adopted and applied
  • Personal fatigue management strategies are communicated to relevant people
  • Appropriate counter measures are planned to combat fatigue

QUALIFICATION OUTCOMES

On successful completion of this course students will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for 'TLIF2010 - Apply Fatigue Management Strategies' with the option of a wallet sized card also. The Unique Student Identifier must be supplied and verified prior to issuance.

VALIDITY OF CERTIFICATION

Your Statement of Attainment has no expiry.

Course Delivery

Training and assessment is a one day course, generally conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients, provided there are suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities available.
